Crewed yacht charter
US Virgin Islands
St. Thomas, St. John, and, on a longer week, St. Croix. A USVI charter mixes park beaches with easier flights for many U.S. guests.
Why go
- St. John holds a run of beaches inside a national park.
- U.S. entry formalities are familiar for many guests.
- A private flight into St. Thomas can cut a commercial connection.
When people go
Thanksgiving through Easter is the busiest stretch. Summer charters are available and should account for hurricane season.
A sample 7-day route
This is one way a week can unfold. Weather, the yacht, and the group will change the order. It is not a booking.
Day 1
St. Thomas
Board and move toward a first St. John anchorage.
Day 2
North shore beaches
A beach morning and a short reposition.
Day 3
A second St. John bay
Swimming and a hike if the group wants one.
Day 4
A quieter cove
The long lunch day.
Day 5
St. Thomas harbor or a nearby cay
A night with the option of dinner ashore.
Day 6
One more beach
The last full day in the water.
Day 7
Disembark St. Thomas
A morning swim if the flight allows it.
Fly private to US Virgin Islands
A private flight can remove a connection and put you aboard the same day, when the airport and the operator allow it.
Cyril E. King serves St. Thomas. Henry E. Rohlsen serves St. Croix. St. John has no commercial airport.
